GoldPLUS and the Payroll Office are pleased to offer Lehigh’s benefits eligible faculty and staff a convenient way to join and supplement GoldPLUS via payroll deduction.

How does the GoldPLUS Payroll Deduction work?

When you elect your payroll deduction, you will choose a "target balance" for your GoldPLUS account. When the month-end payroll process is run (which is based on the Payroll Calendar Paperwork Due Date located on the Payroll web site, and can be a week to two weeks prior to the actual month end date), Payroll will compare your current GoldPLUS balance to your target amount, and process a payroll deduction in the amount required to bring the balance to your target. Payroll will send that deduction to the GoldPLUS office at month-end to be added to your GoldPLUS account.
Example: Your "target balance" is $50.00, and your GoldPLUS balance at the time the payroll is run is $18.00. We will deduct $32.00 from your pay and automatically add it to your GoldPLUS account at month end.

If I'm paid semi-monthly, will I have a deduction calculated for each pay period?

No, GoldPLUS payroll deductions are only calculated and deducted in the month end pay check.

What if I run out of GoldPLUS before the end of the month?

You can add to your GoldPLUS account with check, or your personal credit or debit card at any time, whether you are using the Payroll Deduction or not, by stopping by the GoldPLUS office in the IDEAL Office at 42 University Drive, or by phoning 86169.

If I have to add more during the middle of the month, can I only add up to my "target balance" amount?

There is no maximum balance for GoldPLUS accounts, only a "target balance" for the payroll deduction amount, thus you can add as much as you want with cash, check, or personal credit or debit card.

My GoldPLUS balance didn’t equal my "target balance" on payday even though there was a payroll deduction amount on my pay stub – why not?

Your payroll deduction amount is calculated approximately one to two weeks before the end of the month (based on the Payroll Calendar Paperwork Due Date located on the Payroll web site). Any GoldPLUS purchases made during the last week or two of the month will not be reflected in the calculation of your payroll deduction/GoldPLUS addition.

How can I open a GoldPLUS account?

You can open a GoldPLUS account and sign up for payroll deduction by filling out the Payroll Deduction Authorization form online or at the GoldPLUS office in the IDEAL Office at 42 University Drive. A GoldPLUS account will be activated on your Lehigh ID card and funds added with the next month-end pay period.

How do I stop the payroll deduction, or change my "target balance" amount?

You can stop or change your GoldPLUS payroll deduction by filling out the Payroll Deduction Authorization form online or at the GoldPLUS office in the IDEAL Office at 42 University Drive. Your Payroll and GoldPLUS will be adjusted with the next month-end pay period.
