Opening Procedures - January

Spring 2018 Opening - Check-In for Students Changing Rooms and New Residents

Sorority Houses open at 9:00 AM Monday, January 15, 2018.
Fraternity Houses open at 9:00 AM Saturday, January 20, 2018. 

Sorority Check-in    9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Housing Services

Monday, January 15th

Check-in for sorority residents making room changes and new residents moving into the house will be held at Housing Services from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2017.  If you arrive after 4:00 PM, you will have ID card access to the house and the President or House Manager will use their master key to provide temporary access to your room. You must then complete the check-in process as described below the following day at the Housing Services Office.  Any check-ins after Monday would be at the Housing Services Office.

Residents Making Room Changes

Check-in MUST be completed in this manner.  You are responsible for signing a Key Registration Card to obtain your new room key and returning the key for your old room as described below.

•    Go to Housing Services to obtain the key for your new room.
•    Complete relocation to your new room.  This needs to be done within 3 days.

The key you were issued for your previous room needs to be returned by you to Housing Services (balcony level of Rathbone Hall) during office hours 8:15 AM – 4:45 PM.

Do not obtain your new room key from any resident of the house who is leaving or is moving out of the room you are moving into.

Do not give your old room key to a resident who is moving into your old room, leave the key in the room or give to anyone to return on your behalf including the House Manager.  It is not her responsibility to handle keys during this process.

If a key is not returned, the lock on the room will be changed and the cost of $50 will be billed to your Bursar account.

New Residents

Check-in MUST be completed in this manner.  You are responsible for signing a Key Registration Card to obtain the key for your new room and other important check-in information.

•    Go to Housing Services to obtain the key for your new room.
•    Be sure to bring your Lehigh Student ID Card.  You will need to present it as picture ID to receive your room key in addition to gaining access to your house.

Do not accept a key for the room you are assigned to occupy from any resident moving out because they are making a room change, etc.

Fraternity Check-in    9:00 AM – 4:00 PM  Housing Services Office

Saturday, January 20th or Sunday, January 21st

Check-in for fraternity residents making room changes and new residents moving into the house will be held at the Housing Services Office (balcony level of Rathbone Hall) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on both Saturday, January 20th and Sunday, January 21st, 2018.  If you arrive after 4:00 PM, you will have ID card access to the house and the President or House Manager will use their master key to provide temporary access to your room. You must then complete the check-in process as described below the following day. 

Residents Making Room Changes

Check-in MUST be completed in this manner.  You are responsible for signing a Key Registration Card to obtain your new room key and returning the key for your old room as described below.
