Updated June 3: COVID-19 Housing Information

We continue to follow guidance from state and local health officials monitoring the coronavirus and are in the process of working to better understand state and federal guidance around the timeline for resuming university operations. Below you will find information about the move out options available to students. Everyone must sign up for either option 1 or 2 no later than June 10.

Option 1: Use an approved vendor to pack, ship and/or store belongings

Option 2: In-Person Move Out by student or designee

Option 1: Use an approved vendor to pack, ship and/or store belongings

(Open)

Please follow both steps below to register for the packing, storage and/or shipping option. Please note, service can not occur without completing both steps

Step 1: Arrange packing, storage and/or shipping through one of the two approved vendors listed below, O’Brien’s Moving and Storage or TSI. You can use the links below to arrange service with either company. Please ensure your hall, room and LIN are listed as they appear in your Housing and Dining Self Service Page when you submit that information to the moving company.

Step 2: As soon as you have selected a moving company, you will need to complete the Move Out Moving Company Consent Form on your Housing and Dining Self Service Page. The form is located under applications on the left side of the page. Signing this form will authorize the University to provide access to your campus residence to the company you are working with. This form can be completed as soon as you have chosen which company you are working with. Once you have arranged service AND filled out the Move Out Moving Company Consent Form, the moving company will work with the University to arrange a date and time to access your room.

Option 2: In-Person Move Out by student or designee

(Open) Appointments will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis

If your roommate also has belongings in the room, please discuss before signing up. You cannot sign up for the same time. This includes different bedrooms within apartment style.

The on-line process for signing up has closed. Please contact Housing Services to schedule your move out.

Need ID card or keys?

If you are missing your access card and/or keys, you must fill out this Request Form 2 business days prior.

Proxy Information

If you are having a proxy pick up your belongings you must select a time block for that person and fill out the Proxy Form. This form gives consent for your proxy to enter your room. It will also provide us with the information that we need to give access and keys to your proxy. Again, you must sign up no later than 2 business days prior to your selected time block to allow for your access to the building to be activated.

Back to Questions

If I don’t want to have an item packed, will movers throw it out or have it donated?

You will be able to video call with the moving company at the designated time of your move out, so you will be able to direct them during the packing process. You will be able to choose items to be shipped and/or items to be stored. You’ll also be able to designate items for trash during this call. The university is exploring donation options as well.

Back to Questions

If I have my keys(s) with me and am not returning to campus, what address should I send it to?

Please place it in a padded envelope with your name, building and room number and send it to Housing Services, 63 University Dr., Bethlehem, PA 18015. Please be sure to use a padded envelope when mailing keys. Placing your key in a standard envelope, in many cases, causes the envelope to break open during the mailing process and can result in a lost key.

Back to Questions

If I return to campus, what do I do with my key when I finish moving out?

Keys can be returned to the drop box at the University Police Station Lobby on Packer Avenue. Please place the room key in one of the envelopes located next to the drop box and note your name and room number on the envelope before depositing it in the drop box.

Back to Questions

Do I have to schedule a time to pick up my belongings?

Yes, when the time comes, if you are returning to campus to pick up your belongings, you are required to schedule a time to do so. The university will continue the practice of social distancing during this process and must regulate the amount of students in a particular building at a particular time. If you show up on campus without scheduling, you will not be given access to your room.

Back to Questions

If I choose option 2, can I return sooner than the date and time assigned by Housing Services?

No, you cannot return to campus any sooner than your assigned date to pick up your belongings. Lehigh is required to comply with government regulations and only essential personnel are permitted to be on campus during this time.
