A New Structure for the Arts, Libraries and Technology at Lehigh
Lehigh University has announced an evolution in leadership roles and organizational structure at Lehigh. The organizational changes described below primarily involve Library and Technology Services, Finance and Administration, the Lehigh University Art Galleries, and Zoellner Arts Center.
Two New Divisions
The university has created two new divisions – Arts and Libraries and Information Technology. The new divisions are designed to reflect the essential importance of creative expression, discovery, and technological agility at a modern, and increasingly complex, world-class research university.
While reporting lines at the executive level are changing, this reorganization will not result in any staff reductions. Our commitment to service excellence remains the same. Faculty, students, and staff will continue to access IT support, library services, LUAG and Zoellner through the same channels they use today.
The divisions will be led by two long-serving and capable leaders in the following new strategic positions.

Vice Provost for Arts and Libraries
Greg Reihman, formerly Vice Provost for Library and Technology Services, serves as Lehigh’s inaugural Vice Provost for Arts and Libraries. He reports to the Provost. Greg oversees the Libraries, Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG) and Zoellner Arts Center (ZAC). Academic arts departments (Art Architecture and Design, Music, and Theater) will continue to report to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services and Chief Information Officer
Ilena Key, formerly Chief Technology Officer, takes on this important role. She reports to the Vice President for Finance and Administration. Ilena has operational and strategic oversight for all of Lehigh’s infrastructure and operations, academic, and administrative enterprise software, web and mobile services, client services, information security operations and identity and access management, and research computing.
Other Organizational Changes
The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) will join the Office of Educational Innovation and Assessment, led by Vice Provost Dominic Packer. This includes the following areas:
- Instructional Technology
- Distance Education Operations
- Writing Across the Curriculum
Vice Provost for Research Anand Jagota will provide consultation to the Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer in the area of research computing.
How Lehigh Will Benefit
An Intellectual Hub
Combining the Arts and Libraries under shared leadership creates a powerful 'cultural core' for the university. It facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration between archives, galleries, and performing arts centers. This structure recognizes that the arts and libraries are intellectual partners in the Provost’s mission.
Operational Excellence
Moving Lehigh’s digital infrastructure into the operational center of the university ensures that technology investments are directly aligned with the university’s long-term financial planning and operational sustainability. Integrating Information Technology Services into Finance and Administration also provides a more effective structure within which to manage institutional risk, compliance, and data governance.

Very little will change for students, faculty, and staff regarding services, as the staff providing library, arts and IT services remains unchanged. Eventually, you will notice website changes as the IT Services and Library areas of the LTS website move to new locations.
No one will lose their job as a result of this re-organization.
The vast majority of Library, Arts and IT employees will remain in their current location with their current supervisor. Several employees will have new reporting lines: some who currently report to the Vice Provost for Library and Technology Services will now report to the Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services/CIO; some who formerly reported to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences will now report to the Vice Provost for Arts and Libraries; and some who currently report to the Director of CITL will now be part of the office of the Vice Provost for Educational Innovation and Assessment.
