New European Travel Authorization Requirement

Starting in 2025, U.S. passport holders, along with visa-exempt nationals from many other countries, will need authorization via the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) to travel to 30 European countries. The official ETIAS website and this FAQ have more information about the new authorization requirements and process.

In the upcoming storm season, there may be weather events in the coming months causing flight disruptions. Last year's summer statistics included a total of 41,323 cancellations and around 451,000 delays and other disruptions. As always, CTP continues to monitor significant weather events and upscale staffing due to these disruptions.

CTP continues to recommend the following traveler actions to help mitigate traveler inconvenience and longer hold times with emergency services and airlines if travelers run into flight delays or cancellations due to weather events:

  • Travelers should only use CTP Emergency Services when travel is within 72 hours of departure
  • For travel outside of 72 hours, please call during normal business hours; our goal is to service travelers who are experiencing current flight disruptions and not inhibit travelers in need from being able to reach a live agent
  • Choose the "callback" option to reduce hold times and receive a return call when an agent becomes available
  • Book, change, and cancel travel reservations through your company’s online booking tool whenever possible
  • Avoid booking the last flight of the day
  • Download airline apps, and sign up for airline messages
  • Use the airline app, CTM Mobile, and/or relevant websites to check flight status before heading to the airport
  • Utilize the Scout tool within CTM Portal to cancel or check flight statuses

We appreciate your support and collaboration to employ these recommendations.
